Angelini Pharma has earned the EcoVadis Gold Medal, marking an important step forward in our sustainability journey.

The recognition places us in the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide over the previous 12 months, corresponding to the 95th percentile or above. Our overall EcoVadis score also increased from 69 to 82, building on the Silver Medal achieved in the previous assessment.

From Silver to Gold: our EcoVadis sustainability performance

EcoVadis assesses companies across four key sustainability areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Medal levels are based on percentile ranking against all organizations assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months, across industries worldwide.

Moving from Silver to Gold therefore reflects the progress made across different areas of our business and the work carried out over time to strengthen the integration of sustainability into our processes and priorities.

“The EcoVadis Gold Medal is an important recognition of the progress we have made and, above all, of the collective effort behind it. Improving our score from 69 to 82 reflects the contribution of teams across Angelini Pharma, from climate action and eco-design to inclusion and responsible procurement. It is a result we can be proud of, while also reminding us that sustainability expectations continue to evolve. Our ambition is to keep raising the bar and embedding these principles even more deeply into the way we work.”

Stefano Germini, Head of Sustainability at Angelini Pharma

Turning our sustainability commitments into action

The EcoVadis result reflects a broader programme of actions already underway across Angelini Pharma.

On the environmental front, in 2025 we defined and launched our decarbonization plan, targeting a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030. We also established an internal eco-design team to integrate sustainability principles into new and modified products.

Our commitment also extends to people and our value chain. In Italy, we renewed the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification across all our operating sites, while continuing to strengthen the integration of sustainability criteria into supplier assessment and responsible procurement processes. In 2025, the share of strategic suppliers  assessed with sustainbility criteria increased from 51% to 67%.

These initiatives complement our work in areas such as responsible pharmaceutical production and innovation, including LIFE-GREENAPI, the EU co-funded project coordinated by Angelini Pharma to explore more sustainable processes for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Our broader commitment to sustainability

For Angelini Pharma, sustainability is part of the way we do business and create long-term value for patients, people, communities, partners and the planet.

Our Sustainability Plan translates this commitment into 15 targets for 2030, structured around four pillars — Planet, People, Patients & Communities and Ecosystems — supported by Product & Innovation and Governance as enabling factors.

The EcoVadis Gold Medal recognizes the progress achieved so far while setting a new benchmark for the future. We will continue to strengthen our approach across areas including climate change, eco-design, inclusion and responsible procurement, building on the collaboration and commitment of people across our organization.
